The 11th Frontier Forum for Digital Technology and Finance was Successfully Held

On the afternoon of October 28, 2022, the 11th Digital Technology and Economic and Financial Frontier Forum, sponsored by the Innovation and Talent Base for Digital Technology and Finance, the School of Finance and its partner departments, was successfully held online. Professor Xiong Xiong, Deputy Director of the School of Management and Economics, Tianjin University, was invited to speak on the topic of "Modeling Financial Economic System Based on Computational Experiments". Professor Yongbin Lv, Deputy Dean of School of Finance, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and Deputy Director of Digital Technology and Modern Finance Discipline Innovation and Intellectual Introduction Base, presided over the forum. Researchers from the base and postgraduate students from universities all over the country attended the forum.

At the beginning of the lecture, Professor Yongbin Lv briefly introduced Professor Xiong's research direction and academic achievements to the participants, and expressed his sincere thanks to Professor Xiong for sparing time in his busy schedule to conduct academic lectures for the teachers and students of our school!

Professor Xiong Xiong elaborated the computational experimental modeling platform and large-scale artificial financial economic system, and forecast the future development trend of computational experimental financial economic system modeling.

Speaker Introduction

Xiong Xiong is a Professor, doctoral supervisor and Deputy Director of the School of Management and Economics, Tianjin University. His research interests include big data finance, computational experimental finance, enterprise development and financial strategy. He served as the Deputy Secretary-General of Chinese Society of Systems Engineering and director of Financial Systems Engineering Committee, Vice President of Decision-making Branch of China Operations Research Society, Vice Chairman of Quantitative Finance and Insurance Branch of China Association of Selective Law and Economic Mathematics, Vice Director of Financial Technology Professional Committee of China Society of Information Economics. He has published more than 80 academic papers and 2 monographs. He has presided over more than 10 national, provincial and ministerial projects, including key projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation. He is currently leading the major special project of the National Natural Science Foundation of China "Computational Experimental Modeling Research Based on the Complex Correlation between China's 'Real Economy and Financial System'" (2022.01-2026.12). He was awarded the "New Century Excellent Talent Support Program" by the Ministry of Education in 2007, and won the Tianjin Youth Science and Technology Award in 2010. In 2017, he led the "Big Data Financial Quantitative Team" to be selected as the "High level Innovation and Entrepreneurship Team" in Tianjin.

Frontier Forum for Digital Technology and Finance introduction

Recent years have witnessed a dramatic acceleration in a digital revolution in economic sectors and a rapid adoption of the new generation of information technologies, such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, cloud computing, big data, etc. These technologies effectively set off the digital economy. It has become a key driving force in creating global economic growth, improving the modernization level of governance capabilities, and promoting high-quality economic development in China. In particular, digital finance is the most important part of the digital economy. To explore the development direction of the cross-integration of digital technology and finance, the Innovation and Talent Base for Digital Technology and Finance is hosting the “Frontier Forum for Digital Technology and Finance”, in collaboration with the School of Finance, Wenlan School of Business, Economics School, School of Information and Safety Engineering, School of Statistics and Mathematics, School of Public Finance and Taxation of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law (ZUEL). This lecture series will invite the well-known scholars at home and abroad in digital technology, digital economy, digital finance, and other related fields as guest speakers, providing an open and cutting-edge academic exchange platform for interdisciplinary research on digital technology and finance.
