On December 26th, the National Office for Philosophy and Social Sciences Work announced the list of approved major special projects of the National Social Science Fund focused on researching and interpreting the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. A total of 106 projects nationwide were approved this time. Professor Minggui Yu, Co-Director of the Base, successfully secured approval for his project titled "Research on the Governance, Incentive, and Restraint Mechanisms of Financial Institutions Oriented towards Serving the Real Economy."

Minggui Yu is the Dean of the School of Finance at Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, a Second-Level Professor, a PhD Supervisor, Co-director of Innovation and Talent Base for Digital Technology and Finance, Co-President of the Alumni Association for Finance, Equity Investment, and Fixed Income, and a Leading Expert for Major Projects of the National Social Science Fund. He has been selected for the Ministry of Education's Program for New Century Excellent Talents. His main research areas include corporate finance, digital finance, and finance and innovation. He has hosted major and key projects of the National Social Science Fund, as well as multiple projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published over 90 academic papers in journals such as Economic Research Journal, Management World, The Journal of World Economy, China Economic Quarterly, Journal of Financial Research, as well as SSCI journals including Accounting and Finance, Pacific-Basin Finance Journal, and Economic Modelling.
