Professor Yongbin Lv, Deputy director of the Base, has published a collaborative paper titled "Digital Financial Inclusion and Rural governance -- Evidence from rural land contract" in Oriental Forum Journal
Abstract:
According to the 2014 -- 2019 rural land contract dispute case documents published on the website of China Judicial Documents, based on the panel data of the incidence rate of rural land contract dispute at the prefecture and municipal level, the impact of digital financial inclusion development on rural land contract dispute cases was investigated from the perspective of cost-benefit and financial equity. The results showed that: There is a significant negative correlation between the development of digital inclusive finance and the incidence of rural land contract disputes. Further heterogeneity test found that digital inclusive finance had stronger effects in areas with relatively low economic development level and household disposable income, and had different effects on rural land contract disputes with different case acceptance costs. Mechanism analysis found that digital financial inclusion can reduce the incidence of land contract disputes by reducing regional income gap, improving information transparency and slowing the change of floating population.
