From May 6th to 7th, 2023, the "Party Building Leading, Integration of Science and Education - China Finance Lakeside Forum" jointly initiated by Shandong University and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law was held at Shandong University. The forum was organized by responsible personnel of national benchmark schools' party building departments, model branches, and "double leading teachers" party branch secretary workshops from 21 universities. Experts and scholars from 18 universities and institutions including Peking University, Nankai University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, and Central University of Finance and Economics gathered in Jinan to share experiences on the integration of party building with discipline development, explore the construction of the "Party Building + Discipline" development model, and conduct high-level teaching and research exchanges. The forum included five sections: Party Building Work Forum, keynote speeches, sub-forums, curriculum ideology and politics teaching roundtable discussions, etc. Associate Director and Secretary of the Third Batch of National Party Building Model Branches, Yongbin Lv, was invited to attend and represent the sponsoring unit to undertake the next China Finance Lakeside Forum.

The Communist Party of China was born in the South Lake of Jiaxing, Zhejiang. The spirit of the Red Boat is the source of the Chinese revolutionary spirit. In order to implement the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, carry forward the spirit of the Red Boat, inherit red genes, give full play to the leading role of party building, promote the integration and mutual promotion of party building with discipline innovation, talent cultivation, Shandong University and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law respectively rely on the second batch of "Double Leading Teachers" Party Branch and the third batch of national Party building model branches as nurturing units, jointly initiated the establishment of the "Party Building Leading · Integration of Science and Education - China Finance Lakeside Forum". It aims to build a national university finance discipline party building work alliance and exchange platform, hold two annual finance discipline exchanges, share experiences on party building leading discipline development, promote the "Party Building + Discipline" development model, and carry out high-level teaching and research exchanges, thus contributing to promoting the development of finance disciplines, boosting high-quality economic and social development, and cultivating financial talents capable of fulfilling the great task of national rejuvenation.
