On September 25, 2022, the "Seminar for Key Teachers of Fintech Majors/Courses" was successfully held online by the Financial Education Alliance of Chinese Universities. The workshop was co-sponsored by the Financial Education Alliance of Chinese Universities and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, and hosted by the School of Finance of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, the Innovation and Introduction Base of Digital Technology and Modern Finance Discipline, and the Virtual Teaching and Research Section of Banking Management Course (the first batch of Virtual Teaching and Research Section construction pilot projects of the Ministry of Education). More than 6300 experts, scholars and key teachers from universities such as University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Central University of Finance and Economics, Central China Normal University, Shenzhen University, Southwest University of Economics and Law and Zhongnan University of Economics and Law participated in this online workshop (more than 100 people from Tencent conference and more than 6200 people from theory platform).
The seminar was hosted by Professor Yongbin Lv, Deputy Dean of School of Finance and Deputy Director of Digital Technology and Modern Finance Innovation and Intelligence Base of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. Peng Zhao, Vice President of Economic Bureau of Higher Education Press, delivered a speech on behalf of the organizer. Vice President Zhao Peng extended a warm welcome to the experts, scholars and key teachers attending the meeting. He pointed out that today, with the rapid development of the digital economy, its wide range of radiation and deep influence, the new round of technological revolution represented by blockchain, artificial intelligence and other new technologies has had an unprecedented impact on the financial industry, and profound digital changes are taking place in the financial field. In the face of practical changes, universities must respond quickly and strengthen the training of fintech talents. It is hoped that this workshop can achieve the purpose of summing up experience, exchanging ideas, gathering wisdom, communicating information and enhancing understanding.
In the first part of the keynote report, Xianhua Wei, professor of the School of Economics and Management of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences and director of the Center for Digital Economy and Blockchain Research of the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, gave a keynote report titled "Textbook and Suggestions on Blockchain Finance" from four aspects: introduction of textbook writing team, textbook introduction, textbook application suggestions and blockchain basic teaching examples. Wei Dai, associate Professor and director of the Department of Fintech at the Central University of Economics and Law, from the aspects of feasibility, necessity, construction content and core work tasks, took the novel coronavirus as an example to give a detailed analysis of the unique cross-over and correlation characteristics of knowledge map compared with the traditional knowledge storage mode in a thematic report titled Knowledge Map Construction in the Virtual Teaching and Research Office of Financial Science and Technology.
Professor Liu Yang, director of the Finance Department of the School of Economics and Management at Central China Normal University, commented on the above report. She believes that the textbook of Blockchain Finance has complete content, rigorous logic and high practicability, with detailed scientific suggestions and wide application scope. The construction of knowledge graph has theoretical and practical significance for the teaching of financial science courses. The content and viewpoints are full and effective, and the discussion logic is rigorous.
In the second part of the keynote report, Associate Professor Ying Chen, deputy director of the Finance Department of Shenzhen University and expert of Guangdong Internet Finance Research Institute, gave a keynote report titled "Fintech: Classroom and Practice" focusing on the background and opportunity of course construction, the design of course content, the design of practical expansion and the direction of future efforts. Xianming Sun, associate professor of Finance School of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law and executive deputy director of Digital Technology and Modern Financial Discipline Innovation and Introduction Base, made a report titled "Virtual Simulation Experiment of Financial Derivatives Design and Risk Management" in four aspects, including first-class virtual simulation course construction, financial engineering experiment teaching background, option Virtual simulation experiment design and practical teaching summary.
Professor Zhi Xu, Deputy director of the Academic Affairs Office of Southwestern University of Finance and Economics and head of the national course of Corporate Finance, commented on the above report. He summarized the five highlights of Fintech: Classroom and Practice with five "have" : there are textbooks, there are scenes, there are cases, there are systems, there are practices. He put forward specific suggestions on how to build a theoretical system of fintech. Professor Xu affirmed the highlights of the project Construction and Practice of First-class Courses in Virtual Simulation from the aspects of necessity of virtual simulation, authenticity of simulation design, student-centered design concept and student system interaction, and gave feasible suggestions on the use, feedback and precipitation of the project.
Professor Yongbin Lv, Deputy Dean of School of Finance, Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Deputy director of Digital Technology and Modern Financial Discipline Innovation and Intelligence Base, made the final summary of the meeting. He said that with the help of the platform of the Financial Education Alliance of Chinese Colleges and universities, through the teaching of excellent teachers and the study of special courses, we hope that the seminar for key teachers of fintech majors/courses will become better and better, attract more participants from all walks of life, and jointly promote the high-quality construction of Chinese fintech textbooks, course design and talent training.
